| Q:
How are the doors made? |
- WORLDDOORS are made
of premium grade MDF. Each solid door is made with 3 pieces of MDF.
The two extra thick skins and a filler strip of MDF are glued and pressed
together in a hydraulic press.
- The intricate designs are
computer generated and individually crafted on a CNC router.

| Q:
What are the dimensions available? |
- WORLDDOORS can be
custom built to fit any size up to 42” x 96”.
- Thickness is determined
by the middle piece of MDF. The outside skins are each made of ½” thick
MDF. The thickness of the door is determined by the size of the middle
layer. Generally, the most popular thickness require a 3/8 spacer (for
a 1 3/8”door) or a ¾: spacer (for 1 ¾” door)
- French Doors come in two
standard thickness sizes. For 1 3/8” thickness there are two 9/16 skins
and a ¼” core. For 1 ¾” thickness the skins are ¾” and the core is ¼”.

| Q:

than hollow core doors, are more stable (less susceptible to warping)
and offer superior soundproofing.

| Q:
Why do WORLDDOORS come factory pre-primed? |
- MDF is an interior product
and WORLDDOORS can seal and protect the product at the manufacturing
facility. Priming the doors at the manufacturing stage is a further
indication of our commitment to quality.

| Q:
What are the limits on variety of styles/designs? |
- Other than the fact that
the designs are going to be cut into a ½” thick panel, the possibilities
are infinite. Our motto is “Whatever can be dreamed can be manufactured!!!”

| Q:
Of the three types of doors WORLDDOORS offers; what is the difference
between a Solid Door, a French Door and a Shaker Door? |
- A solid door is the term
for a door where the facing on both sides is not cut completely through.
- French Doors are defined
as “See Through” doors that are able to receive glass panels.
- WORLDDOORS can
achieve extravagant French Doors designs (check out the “spider web”
door) by routering the exterior slabs all the way through and then
replacing the inner spacing with a sheet of glass. The flexibility
and opulent variety of designs can be achieved at a very reasonable
price with WORLDDOORS’ French doors because only one full-length
pane is required as opposed to buying and inserting numerous panes
of glass for each void.
- WORLDDOORS do not
come with glass. The customer can purchase the style and type of glass
they wish through their local glass dealer.
- The void between the two
slabs is ¼” or 6mm so a 6mm-glass pane should be purchased. If 5mm
or 4mm is desired be sure to put tape or foam strips on the edge of
the glass to stop any rattling.
- The glass slides between
the two slabs. To do this one should lay the door on its edge and
gently push the filler strip out of the door. Then slide the glass
through the opening and replace the filler strip. Do not glue this,
as glass may need to be replaced in the future.
- Any kind of glass can
be used with clear, glue chip and frosted glass being the most popular.
Consult with your glass dealer for ideas.
- Shaker Doors are recessed
panel doors. They are currently very popular.
- At WORLDDOORS the
shaker door is manufactured the same way as the French doors except
to give the recessed panel look, an MDF panel is inserted instead
of the glass. This is done at the factory.
